Dreaming of that NEW Twin Peaks Trail – Planning Starts NOW!

The rumors have been swirling for about two years now, and just when you blink for a second, it all materializes quickly into reality.

The San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department has officially commenced the Trail Planning Process for the Glen Canyon, and Twin Peaks trail systems. The meetings hold significant importance as it will help determine how much of the trail system is designed with bicycle access in mind. SFUR will be in attendance, but these are Community Meetings that will require are members to also get involved.

This trail system will create a lengthy off road trail experience from the bottom of Glen Canyon, up around the back of the S.O.T.A School, across Portola Ave, and then off-road to the top of Twin Peaks. Needless to say this corridor will make an excellent addition to the popular Mount Sutro and Golden Gate Park trail systems, and make a great route to get out to the McLaren Bike Park when it is opened in Spring 2012.

Who do we need?

If you live in the the Glen Canyon or Twin Peaks area we need your representation.

If you are passionate about trail access and see the beauty of this nearly Two Mile trail addition to your recreational  riding experience, we need your representation.

Planning Meeting of this magnitude only happen once in a lifetime…. lets make sure the cycling community are winners for generations to come!
